Six Highland cows, arranged in a quiet rhythm across the page. Not one hero cow but a small herd — the way you actually see them on a hillside, one after another, patient, unbothered. This piece is about the collective calm of them, and the pleasure of six coats worth of texture in one composition.
 
Each coo is individually hand-painted, focusing on the tangle and warmth of the Highland coat, then set at 5mm floating relief above the surface. As the light shifts through the day, the shadows shift with it — the herd never sits quite still.
